About

Jane Charles has lived in the Midwest her entire life. In fact, she lived in the same house until the day she married.  As a child she would more likely be found outside with a baseball than a book in her hand. In fact, Jane hated reading until she was sixteen. Out of boredom on a long road trip she borrowed her older sister’s historical romance and fell in love with reading. She long ago lost count of how many fiction novels she has read over the years but her love for them never died.  Along with romance she has a passion for history and the two soon combined when she penned her first historical romance.  What turned into a hobby became a passion, which has been fully supported by her husband, three children, three cats and a dog.
When not writing, Jane loves to work in her garden. Besides trying to find the prefect balance so that something is in bloom from the first day of spring to the first hard freeze, she tends her herb and veggie gardens and loves cooking with fresh produce and experimenting with herbs.  Someday she hopes to build her dream kitchen so she can cook some of her favorite meals without running out of counter space.
Another passion is theatre.  For several years she has been involved in the local community theatres and started with costuming. This proved to be rather difficult since she can't sew but learned that Velcro can solve almost any problem. She soon found that she loved doing makeup and hair and has been in charge of this area for the many of the productions over the years. Most recently she put on a director's hat.  She had directed children and teens at their grade schools and church, before directing at the local community theatres. To date she has directed Twelve Angry Men at the fourth oldest community theatre in the country.  And has also directed A Piece of My Heart and Lost in Yonkers (both in the round, which was a fun challenged). In the meantime, there are more productions where she will be busy in the makeup area, but hopes to direct again, very soon.
Lastly, she loves to travel and has been lucky enough to visit Paris four times, London, Rome, Florence and Nice.
There is just not enough time in the day to do everything she loves as well as spend the time with her awesome family, which consists of her own hero husband, two daughters, a son, three cats and a dog.
Thank you for stopping  by and Happy reading :).
